2014 Fayette County Fallen Officers Memorial

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office recently hosted it's annual Fallen Law Enforcement Officer's Memorial.  This service is held annually as a tribute to those Fayette County Officers and their families who have served their community and given the ultimate sacrifice.  Members from the Shelby County Sheriff's Office Color Guard and Honor Guard assisted with the posting of colors and the placement of the memorial wreath.  Sarah Grace Jackson, granddaughter of Sheriff Riles, sang the National Anthem.  Sheriff Bobby Riles lead attendees in the saying of the Pledge of Allegiance.  The invocation was provided by Pastor Connie Wright of House of Faith Ministries.  Investigator David Webb opened the ceremony and introduced the keynote speaker, Mike Dunavant, District Attorney General for the 25th Judicial District of Tennessee.  General Dunavant spoke to the officers, families, and attendees about the dangers of law enforcement and the efforts his office has put forth to prosecute those who harm or kill law enforcement officers.  Representatives from Fayette County law enforcement agencies read the Roll of Honor, a tribute to each Fayette County officer who lost his life in the line of duty.  Investigator Webb provided closing remarks, and Sgt. Rhesa Davis, Sheriff's Office Chaplain, provided a closing prayer.
